Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Who's the fairest of them all? That would be Emma Kate! She just got this adorable Snow White costume in the mail from her Aunt Caroline. Can't you tell she loves it?

3 weeks old

We have been enjoying our newest addition to the Booth household. He is now 3 weeks old and getting plumper by the day!

 Emma Kate shows her love to her little brother both outwardly and inwardly. It makes me feel so encouraged and rewarded to see how sweet she is to him. I think children usually show others the love (or lack of love) that they have been shown by their parents or others around them. As a parent, it's so easy to second-guess yourself and wonder, "Am I doing this right?" Sometimes it seems like I am doing everything I can to make her happy, but as human nature and "terrible two's" would dictate, it just doesn't seem like it's enough on my part. Sometimes I feel like I have not been as patient as I needed to be with her 2 year old "antics".

With all that said, when I see the way she approaches her baby brother to give him kisses and hear her (over the monitor) reassuring him, I feel like Jim and I have done something right as parents! Of course, we have tried our best, but we are far from perfect. I pray that we will always continue show our children a loving foundation, a loving home and that they will in turn show their love to others. I feel like that is what God calls us to do, but naturally we fail sometimes (or most of the time).

Easter eggs and Emma Kate

Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Tulsa. The four of us headed to Woodward Park where all was in bloom to take Emma Kate's Easter pictures. We also hid a few eggs for Emma Kate to find. She LOVED "playing hide and seek with the eggs". So we re-hid them and she rediscovered them several times. Baby Jim snoozed in his stroller while all the excitement was happening. Here are a few pics from our day...

Baby Jim is here just in time for Easter!

James Edward Booth III came two weeks earlier than expected! He was 6 pounds, 12 ounces and born on Sunday, March 28, 2010 @ 10:25 am. I have loved every minute, Emma Kate overflows with love for her "boy", and Jim loves having a little buddy around. I think he is the most beautiful baby boy ever! We are so thankful for our newest little blessing...

Sunday at the Park

Yesterday Jim, Emma Kate, and I took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather we had this  past weekend. It was great...I just loved being able to feel the warmth of the sun after weeks of the "shivering cold". I have never been so cold in my life as I have been these past few previous weeks! We went to a park in Tulsa that was a new experience and I am not sure, but think it was called Woodward Park. I'll get back to you on that! I can't wait to go back when the flowers are in bloom. There were rose gardens and such all over the place! That's where I'm thinking we will have to go for Easter pictures if timing of the arrival of our new baby will allow it! The houses in that area of downtown Tulsa and surrounding the park were just too cute. They definitely reminded me of those in downtown Oxford, MS. For those of you who know me well, you know Oxford sets the gold standard as far as I am concerned! Emma Kate had a blast taking advantage of the running space and watching the puppies walk by. She was too funny because she fell down a few times and wasn't worried at all about the leaves all over her jacket, skirt, and the scuff marks on her knees. She wanted to be sure and ask her Barney "You okay, Barney?" and brushed the leaves off of him as quick as possible. Here are some pics from Sunday afternoon:

As you can see, we clearly had a blast and Emma Kate loved collecting the gumballs! Also, came across this tree in the arboretum called a Witch Hazel tree and boy did it have the most wonderful fragrance.
